December 18, Tanzania. As part of Rossotrudnichestvo’s international project “Russian Engineering School,” a series of career guidance events titled “Engineer 2.0” took place. The program aims to introduce young people to the fundamentals of robotics and engineering, support technical creativity, and assist in choosing future careers.
The key feature of the project is its practice-oriented format. The events were attended by schoolchildren and students who had no previous experience with robotics. Eight interactive stations were organized for them: everyone could choose a direction according to their interests and master engineering skills through hands-on project work.
The program covered key areas of engineering practice:
1. “Electric Wizard” — participants assembled simple electrical circuits, studied their operation, and mastered basic principles of electrical engineering.
2. “Creating a Smart Robot” — event attendees constructed interactive robots that respond to external signals, taking their first steps in robotics.
3. “Dynamic Design” — teams developed self-propelled structures, applying laws of mechanics and kinematics.
4. “Robotics Olympiad” — participants programmed mini-robots to perform basic tasks, mastering the fundamentals of algorithms.
5. “Mentors and Dreams” — dialogue with representatives of leading engineering and technical universities about educational prospects and career opportunities in the engineering field.
6. “Team Construction” — a competition to create functional models considering principles of architecture and physics within a limited time; developed teamwork skills.
