On 25 August 2025, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting (MGRI) are launching an international educational project called the “Russian Engineering School,” which will start in 11 countries. The project organisers announced this at a press conference at TASS.

During the final third of 2025, from 25 August to 25 December, 14 instructors trained in Russia will teach robotics courses for students and schoolchildren of all ages at 14 Rossotrudnichestvo additional education centres in 11 countries, assisted by 28 tutors who are citizens of these countries.

The course will include three educational tracks in robotics, as well as an educational intensive programme, marathon and science festival, and career guidance events. The instructors have been selected from young candidates of sciences and even final-year master’s degree students from leading engineering universities. MGRI serves as the project operator, and instructor training was conducted at the Palace of Pioneers on Sparrow Hills.

The project’s geography includes countries such as Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Egypt, Zambia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. In these countries, approximately 3,900 students and schoolchildren will be engaged through various forms of classes. Plans are in place to scale the project to the maximum number of countries and disciplines in the future.

“We believe this is a relevant project that will be of particular interest to foreign audiences. Russia is currently actively discussing and implementing numerous initiatives aimed at creating technological sovereignty. We have accumulated significant experience and practices within the country. <…> We want foreign youth to also have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with these projects, which in turn will stimulate their interest in cooperation with Russia. This tool can be effective in promoting the Russian language,” said Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo.
